Property listing will be posted at least one week prior to
sale.
No listing indicates no Tax Foreclosure Sale will be held for the following month.
A Sheriff's Sale
will always be held on the first Tuesday of the month, on the North steps of
the Hunt County Courthouse at 10:00 am pending availability of properties. If
there are no properties listed on this site, then there are no properties being
offered in that particular month.
Simple
Instructions
- Show up at the 2ND Floor Common Area of
the Hunt County Court House (at the top of the North steps) a little
before 10:00 am on the date of the sale.
- Once you get
there you will be required to fill out a small informational card and you
will be assigned a “Bidding Number”.
- A Deputy will
conduct the sale by announcing each property and giving bidders adequate
time to bid. (On properties of high value or interest the Deputy reserves
the right to set minimum bidding increments which will be announced prior
to beginning the bidding process to expedite the sale.)
- If you are the
successful ‘high’ bidder on a property, you have until 3:00pm
to make full payment for the property at the Hunt County Criminal Justice
Center for that property purchase. Payment will be accepted by Cashier’s Check or Postal Money
Order ONLY.
- bidders must
be present at the time of the sale.
- bidders name
must appear on the deed
- properties may
be subject to additional taxes not included in the Judgment and therefore
not represented in the “minimum bid amount”. Bidders should view the
“minimum bid cover sheet” prior to bidding for additional cost that may
be involved with properties.
